Diana Thorneycroft is a Winnipeg artist who has exhibited all across Canada, the United States and Europe as well as in Moscow, Tokyo and Sydney. ‘O Canada (I’m Sorry)’ is an exhibition with selections from two bodies of Thorneycroft’s work: ‘Group of Seven Awkward Moments’ and ‘A Peoples History’. The work in this exhibition investigates the relationship between the Canadian landscape and national identity and explores examples of Canadian society that exemplify the word "awkward". In the words of Thorneycroft, "Canadian history is full of awkward moments and that is more of a reality than this heroic landscape that the Group of Seven portrayed”.
