THE 2020 FERNWOOD ART STROLL
The 13th annual Fernwood Art Stroll will take place on Saturday June 6th and Sunday June 7th from 11 am to 4 pm.
Fernwood and Oaklands makers and artists will be opening their studios to exhibit and sell their art. Visitors will be able to enjoy this opportunity to see artwork in artists’ gardens, studios and workshops, making the event an enjoyable multi-faceted experience.
This year’s stroll will feature 30 plus painters, sculptors, photographers, calligraphers, illustrators, carvers of wood and stone, makers of furniture, garden art and other wood items. The Pandora Arts Collective, at 1923 Fernwood, will host an interactive site for children and families. There will be something unique and handmade for everyone.
The artists of the Fernwood based Shambhala Meditation Centre, at 2033 Belmont, will showcase creative endeavours based upon a contemplative approach. Inside the meditation hall, visitors will encounter a variety of mediums, including painting, photography, calligraphy, Ikebana arrangements and demonstrations, textiles, paper sculpture and pottery. The Centre will also feature poetry and published authors.
The Fernwood Art Stroll is an opportunity to meet and support local artists. Please invite your friends, family and colleagues to join in. While touring the neighbourhood you can also enjoy the hospitality of the local businesses in the Fernwood square and Haultain corners: cafes, pubs and bistros, and the many unique shops. It is also an opportunity to walk or cycle around one of Victoria’s wonderful heritage neighborhoods when the gardens and streets are at their best.
