Easter 2013 on Salt Spring Island marks the opening of the 7th annual Easter Art Tour. Four noted deceased island artist's will be the focus of this year's anchor exhibit at historic Mahon Hall in Ganges. A survey of the work of Gordon Caruso, Allan Crane, Deboragh Gainer and LeRoy Jensen will open on Friday, March 29 and run through Easter Sunday, March 31, 10-5 daily. There will be an opening reception from 6-9 PM on Friday. Curator Anthony Matthews, a co-founding organizer, says that this exhibit "will be the first time that deceased artists have been the subject for the anchor exhibit. It is a tremendous honour to work with the estates of these artists, some of whom I considered personal friends." The tour is a project of the Salt Spring Arts Council and is co-sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce. Visit www.saltspringfineartconsulting.com/easter-art-tour.html for more info.
