Looking Back invitation
On October 25 Elevation Gallery is opening the exhibition “Looking Forward 2 Looking Back”, a retrospect of work from the past 40 years by sculptors Tony Bloom and John Borrowman along with artists connected with the Canmore-based studio collective: Stonecrop.
Stone-crop has operated in the Bow Valley as an independent teaching and working studio that has had a significant impact on Alberta's craft history and included over 100 artists over the past 4 decades.
“Looking Forward 2 Looking Back" includes historic work as well as new, contemporary works Tony Bloom and John Borrowman, who are well known in the Bow Valley and internationally.
The opening reception will be at Elevation Gallery on main street in Canmore, a wonderful gathering of local and regional art enthusiasts who share an interest in the history of craft and art in the Bow Valley. The show will continue the following week during the Public Arts Network Conference on Oct. 30th.
