In Canada our winters are brutal. But that just hides the beauty of our country. We are Canadian photographers and painters and we want to share the beauty of our country and other countries we have seen in our travels. We want our art to speak to people and evoke emotion. We try and capture details, lines and curves on film and canvas for others to enjoy. We are passionate about landscape photography. It is our way of sharing our passion for nature and our adventures.
Traveling and photography are passions of ours and allows us to capture unique moments. We love old abandoned building, vehicles even old fences. It is amazing how nature soon moves in to reclaim this area. Capturing the beauty and vibrance of nature, these moments are inspiring. We want to inspire people to experience the beauty we have witnessed. Also we want to encourage people to look right within our own province and the beauty that is within. Boating, hiking, rock climbing, skiing and camping are just a few of the activities available to the brave and adventurous in Manitoba. Nature is beautiful and we love to capture that beauty. We express our love of this country through our art.
We want to encourage travel and exploration. We want to inspire people to take A Road Less Traveled.
There is beauty everywhere.
Melodie and Robert Dondo are landscape photographers and artists from Oakville, Manitoba.
Melodie graduated from the University of Winnipeg with a degree in science and then continued her education at the University of Manitoba and obtained her MSc. While working in research for Agriculture Canada she pursued her interest in art, taking courses through the Winnipeg Art gallery. She continues to take courses in photography and is interested in learning different styles of art and photography. Melodie paints in acrylics in a combination of styles. She loves how the visible brush strokes enhance the sensuous properties of the paint. She continues to pursue her interest in landscape photography with her husband Robert. In 2014 Melodie’s photograph “Camera Guy” was selected for the Central Region Juried Art Tour.
Robert has been interested in photography since he got his first film SLR camera. From then he upgraded to digital. Through the years Robert has done photography work in his spare time while working full time as a Waste Water Technician. He has taken several photography courses to enhance his skills and learn new techniques. He has tried many things in his lifetime, but he always comes back to landscape photography.
Robert and Melodie combine their paintings and photography together, they compliment each other in their artistic views.
