With growth related to industrialization, paintings in the 19th century began to reflect a changing relationship between people and their natural surroundings. This exhibition captures figures enjoying a tranquil escape in lush, scenic landscapes removed from the hustle and bustle of city life. Included are works by Hendrik F. van Lint, Maxime Etienne Vallee, Frederik J.A. Winther, and Hans Dahl. Showing alongside this exhibition is a selection of fine antiques and objet d’art.
