Monte Clark is pleased to announce an exhibition of new work by Alexine McLeod. On view will be a series of light box works and large-scale photographs printed on silk.
Layering physical materials with coloured light and shadow, McLeod's abstract compressions of space and form engage with perception as a richly active experience. Experimenting with the curiosities inherent in seeing through the lens of photography, her recent work shifts from expansive installations to saturated light-based images that transform, distort and engage with the tensions between subjective and objective vision. Colourful obstructions redirect the gaze, creating a sense of depth and experience of discovering what lies in the periphery.
