Mexican photographer Álvaro Alejandro López has collaborated with several writers who have viewed his De Natura Libris series of photographs devoted to the pages, spines and edges of the book as a creative object.

Several authors including; Yann Martel, Salman Rushdie, Alberto Manguel, Forrest Gander, Isabel Huggan, Nicole Brossard, Roger Chartier and others have shared their thoughts with him on what is a book?

Works from Alvaro’s De Natura Libris series have recently been shown at the Ottawa Public Library and are currently on display at the Hudson Park Library in New York City. Previous exhibits have been in Madrid 2022 and the Netherlands.
