David Langevin
David Langevin lives and paints in British Columbia.
The stillness of his wilderness landscapes is juxtaposed with the dramatic play of his compositional elements, light, and colour. Contrast is the underlying theme in all of David’s acrylic paintings. This talented draftsman uses a profound knowledge of materials and techniques combined with a brilliant sense of design and drama to create striking renditions of the Canadian wilderness.
Cameron Bird
From an early age nature has always been Cameron’s greatest passion. He was born in Duncan, British Columbia in 1971 and after living in many areas of the province, Cameron currently resides near 100 MIle House, BC.
Cameron is now within close proximity to both mountain landscape and wildlife subjects. Whether he is hiking the trails in the area or fishing the various lakes and rivers, Cameron is always looking for new subjects.
Bird attended college studying in the field of commercial art. Cameron researched many great artists including The Group of Seven, and Tom Thomson. Alfred J. Casson and Tom Thomson were of particular interest as well as the German/American wildlife artist Carl Rungius.
In 1989 Cameron met K.C. (Keith) Smith, who became a great teacher and friend. K.C. always taught Cameron to simplify and make each brush stroke count. Cameron has always admired the use of bold colours and heavy impasto. Before Keith passed away he wrote a letter to Cameron informing Cameron to “…carry on where I have left off in this wonderful world of art and creation.”
Following in the footsteps of Keith, Cameron worked as a Pack-Horse Guide in the Chilcotin Mountains. Cameron used his experience guiding in the wilderness to provide him with first-hand material and references for his paintings.
Working as a full-time professional artist Cameron continues capturing and exploring the wild and its animals
