Coast Salish Connections: Making it Flow is a group exhibition featuring a combination of prominent, mid-career, and emerging Coast Salish artists. In homage to their incredible artistry, there event will be held on Saturday, February 17th, 2024, in Gastown.
Coast Salish Connections: Making it Flow unearths the profound ties between people, place, and culture with the Coast Salish Nation.
Renowned artists, including Susan Point, Kelly Cannell, Margaret August, lessLIE Sam, Angela Marston, Jane Marston, Luke Marston, Brent Sparrow, Jody Sparrow and more showcase their deep relationship with land, cosmos, and community.
The exhibition captures a diverse range of media as an expression of shared cultural practices and language.
Attendees are invited to celebrate the continuity and progression of Indigenous art through the minimalistic elegance, vibrant colours, and refined design that are characteristic of the flowing Coast Salish style.
