Colour with a U is a juried exhibition of 42 art quilts from across Canada.
These artists have reflected on the theme of diversity and inclusion to give “colourful” representations of our Canadian cultural identity. Each offers an individual perspective on how we as Canadians see ourselves in our social, historical, and physical landscape.
This body of work highlights a wide variety of mediums, techniques, and approaches to quilt making!
Have you been to the Colour with a ‘U’ exhibition at the Buhler Gallery? The quilts are beautiful and inspiring; so much so that we invite you to join us for an online evening of quilt making.
On January 6 SAQA quilt artists Susan Selby and Cathie Ugrin will be leading an exciting workshop on creating strip pieced abstract landscapes using two different approaches. Susan will work with a raw edge technique, and Cathie will present strip piecing with curved seams. Both methods are finished with free-motion machine quilting, hand quilting, and other embellishments if you wish.
Techniques are suitable for any skill level.
When: Thursday, January 6, 7:00-8:30pm
Where: Zoom link will be announced closer to workshop date
