Convivium, a festive banquet in the Roman Days, is a word now adopted by the "slow food movement." In solo show, Convivium, Shelby draws the parallel that ART, too, can be a powerful catalyst to bring a social group together.

Artist, Shelby paints on canvas with arylics and employs large trowel and brushes to layer glazes that impart depth, while expressive mark making and sgraffito interrupt the surface with their counterpoint rythm. Her abstracted landscapes are vibrant in colour and are often dramatic in subject matter conjuring messages of our relationship with the world around us.
