Art has always been woven through Deana Brown's life and experiences. Although Alberta born, Deana spent most of her life in Toronto until 2000 when she moved to Mexico.
She gleaned local teachings in watercolour and ink and then in realism with oils. In 2011, Deana moved to Victoria, where she currently resides. It was finally here in Victoria where she was able to dedicate significant time to explore her art. Connecting with her favourite local artists through workshops she has found her passion with acrylics.
Painting purely on emotion and with spontaneity, Deana finds complete joy in painting while exploring colour and light on a canvas. Finding a connection and language with each painting that naturally evolves and is rarely planned.
