Deborah Lougheed Sinclair, "Before It's Gone," no date
This solo exhibition of paintings by Deborah Lougheed Sinclair is both a celebration of beauty and diversity of our fragile ecosystems in the Canadian Rockies, and a warning about the dramatic changes to them due to human activity and the significant climate change we are currently witnessing. The exhibition’s focus will entail a series of acrylic paintings of wildflowers of the Rocky Mountain landscape and include new and retrospective work from the artist. The artist hopes this project will raise awareness of the great danger to these fragile ecosystems that are essentially a bell-weather to future environmental challenges we face as well as foster an appreciation of the singular beauty of the alpine meadow microenvironment "Before It's Gone".
The exhibition runs November 1 – December 17, 2022, at the ASA Gallery, #222, 1235 – 26th Ave, SE, Calgary, Alberta. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Saturday 10:00 am to 4:00 pm. There will be an opening Friday, November 4th, 4-8 pm.
Artist Talk and Demo: Saturday, November 19, 2022, 12:00 noon
