Art Placement is excited to present this concise survey exhibition of signature works by the renowned Saskatoon-based sculptor, Douglas Bentham, his first at the gallery in almost a decade. Bentham has maintained an international reputation as a major practitioner of abstract, constructivist sculpture for over fifty years. ‘He is one of the country’s most prolific sculptors,’ writes art critic Terry Fenton, ‘one of its finest, one of Canada’s first sculptors in every sense.’ Bentham creates his unique objects in scales ranging from monumental pieces to works that can be held in the hand. He has exhibited nationally and internationally and his works can be found in many private, corporate, and public collections across Canada.
