Two young award-winning artists and recent graduates from Emily Carr University come together to exhibit a collection of semi-surreal and large scale paintings
Kelsey Boorman, from Victoria, BC, and Sara Moayed, from Tehran, Iran, met on day 1 at Emily Carr University and obtained their Bachelor’s degree together.
Kelsey Boorman was born in 1990, and 18 months later, drew an accurate rainbow. Raised in Victoria, she was the first two time winner of Robert Bateman’s national calendar art contest. Kelsey paints to explore the whimsical beauty between super real and surreal. A past participant of the Salt Spring Market, she is returning after graduating from Emily Carr University to present her new body of work at ArtSpring.
A Vancouver based artist, born in Tehran, Iran, Sara Moayed received her bachelors degree at Emily Carr University of art and design. Sara describes her paintings as her tool for self-transformation and exploration. Her paintings address the spirit of objects and unlock stories behind them. They carry a seductive mystery of the unknown while they seem so familiar.
