Dynamic, color field paintings by Doug Rowed
offer the viewer a mesmerizing afternoon visit. In the smaller gallery room, contemplative images of nests are on display, by Susan Loudon.
The current show exhibits large acrylic paintings created in the 1970’s by DOUG ROWED. Pulled from his time living on the Canadian Prairies, these pieces evoke abstracted landscapes with a birds’ eye view. Doug's musical influences during this time period flavours the energy in the works. …Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Miles Davis, and more.
For the White Rabbit Room exhibit this time, SUSAN LOUDON brings the viewer into an intimate space showing a multi-media collection that touches on spring, the start of life, and the creation of a home/nest. Given Doug's large works, and then Susan’s small close up works, this White Rabbit Room suggests a page from Alice & Wonderland ‘large and small’.
