Brad Necyk and Gary Joynes, And All of Everything," 2019
still from 25-minute 3D rendered video, (Joshua Tree), 2019.
This exhibition is an immersive audio/visual experience. Viewers are met by a single monumental screen floating in the center of the space. Two minimalist experimental films play in a never-ending loop, created by visual artist, Brad Necyk. The films are inspired by two iconic landscapes: the arid deserts of Joshua Tree, California and the lush forests of Avatar Grove on Vancouver Island. Accompanied by unearthly tones composed by Gary James Joynes, the exhibition transports the visitor to an extraordinary digital environment.
“We are thrilled to showcase these two artists,” says Art Gallery of St. Albert’s Curator, Emily Baker. “Gary James Joynes and Brad Necyk are no strangers to collaboration. Their individual artistic practices have involved noted and prize-winning collaborations with other artists, community members and industry professionals.”
