The Residency program is open to professionals whose primary areas of practice include the Arts, Heritage or Education. Residency periods are up to 24 weeks of each year. Access to the resources of a particular area within the Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre, neighbour to the house, may also be arranged.
The Ewart Duggan House provides residents a quiet and conveniently located setting in which to work. It is fully furnished with negotiable work areas. Accommodation for residents is situated on the second floor of the house, with access to the main floor kitchen and dining areas. The upper level consists of two bedrooms, a bathroom, study and lounge. It has north and south balconies off the lounge and main bedroom areas respectively. The north facing balcony overlooks the South Saskatchewan River and historic Law Courts.
Located in the beautiful river valley and in close proximity to the historic downtown, the Ewart Duggan House offers an extensive walking and cycling trail system moments away. Staying in Medicine Hat provides opportunities to explore the rich diversity of the south eastern Alberta region and experience life in this river valley city.
