Excavation Closing Reception

Saturday, April 30, 2022 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. with Sharing Circle from 2:30 pm - 3:00 pm

Join us at Sparrow Artspace for our closing reception and sharing circle. We will be showcasing our own work, as well as photos and stories collected from the public during the month-long residency. Sit with us in a Sharing Circle at 2:30 to hear from each of the artists and share your own thoughts, ideas, or stories. Our Speaker's Corner and QR Scavenger Hunt are up and running - participate and then pick your prize from our giveaways!

Thanks to a grant by the Calgary Arts Development and the City of Calgary, February's Artists in Residence, have been able to continue their project into April.  

Artists Lucy Altrows, Ramsey Kunkel, Colleen Rauscher, and Jenny Tzanakos invite you to participate in this community art project, as together, we unearth some of our collective history and add voices to the evolving narratives of a place.

Excavation is an exploration of Sparrow Artspace, the De Waal building in which it is housed, as well as the surrounding neighbourhoods and the land on which it was all built.
