Please join us for the opening reception of Christa Krisman's exhibition Reveries in the Rustad Galleria, Two Rivers Gallery. July 18th, 2013 at 7.30pm.

In Reveries, a new series of paintings by Quesnel-based artist Christa Krisman landscape and a vision of the city emerge in an abstract expressionist form. Christa cites experiences of travelling to cities in Europe and Canada as major inspiration for these paintings, allowing the architectural features of the cities to emerge from her expressive and textural imagery. She uses both geometrical lines and forms to create movement and structure in the pieces, while integrating texture through the use of thickly applied paint, large brushes and palette knives. Her method is intuitive and her imagery evocative allowing for a revelatory exploration of stylized city landscapes.
