Heffel is delighted to present our latest exhibition of works by renowned Canadian artist Joe Fafard, featuring works from the Estate of the Artist. The exciting show celebrates Fafard’s “friends,” his long and well-known series of portraits of distinguished artists, and includes a combination of lifetime and posthumous castings.
Fafard’s works are collected internationally, and many have found homes in major institutions, including the Art Gallery of Ontario, the National Gallery of Canada and the Vancouver Art Gallery, among many others.
An essay by Joe Fafard author Terrence Heath explores the works in the exhibition, and a statement from Fafard’s foundry manager and nephew, Phil Tremblay illustrates Joe’s artistic legacy and the casting process in the accompanying catalogue.
