Vancouver is home to my heart and soul. The magic of the sea, the land and the sky blending in mists, rains and winds steadies, nurtures and inspires me. It always draws me back, no matter how far afield I go. Standing on its soil is as powerful and compelling as the spawn is to the salmon. My roots are deep. I’m as at home in its elusive natural presence as in its ever-changing city buildings. The effusion of emotion, in each of the seven places I’ve explored in paint, springs from the stories they tell. The spirit of these places holds sacred memories that will inform my future.”
