Experience the heat of the desert and the cool of mountain air through colourful works of art that evoke your senses. These scenes and more are featured in an upcoming group exhibition at the Surrey Art Gallery, showcasing more than thirty-five recent 2D artworks in oils, acrylics, watercolours, and drawings by members of the Federation of Canadian Artists Fraser Valley Chapter.
Landscape images range from forest scenes and quaint villages to dense urban skyscrapers, while other works feature detailed animal studies and vibrant close-ups of flowers. The Fraser Valley Chapter was formed in 1992 with the assistance of the National Federation to further the creative efforts of its members and to cultivate interest in the visual arts.
The Chapter now has 60 members throughout the Fraser Valley region and has exhibited in various locations in the area. Artists: Doris Anderson, Audrey Bakewell, Margaret Bale, Beverley Biddulph, Betty Ann Coy, Veronica P Davies, Nino Dobrosavljevic, Shirley Felgner, Joanne Finlay, Suzette Fram, Isabel Gibson, Ellen Kilpatrick, Wendy Mould, Gwen Murphy, Patricia Peters, Lea Sevcov, Gabrielle Strauss, Deborah Strong, Shirley Thomas, Joyce L Trygg, Carol Ann Whitlock, Jo-Ann Wichary.
