“Photographic art is the media I use to express my deeply rooted interest in exposing that which has been taken for granted or hidden away. In doing so, I aim to put forward questions about our first impressions and at the same time endeavor to awaken our consciousness to the oneness of the human condition by exposing the insignificant as signifcant and by challenging accepted notions around wealth and poverty. Through the camera lens I seek out the worlds of the unnoticed or unacknowledged. It is not the subject in the photograph that resonates for me but the content and how I see the surrounding environment”. - Sima Khorrami
