Come join us for a unique evening of art, music and conversation! At this month's First Thursday event The Fort Gallery will welcome musical duo Whippoorwill. Trinity Western University students Catherine Affleck and Erin Avenant have been playing music together for a couple of years now. Their name is inspired by the whippoorwill bird who is a symbol of melancholy and of death, but whose song signals the light of dawn. The need for a creative outlet brought this duo together, along with a shared love of playing sad music--nothing makes them happier.

We will also be joined by some of the exhibiting artists from our current show, "Field Guide to Traveling Bridges", a collaborative art installation piece that will be created on the walls of the gallery over the course of the exhibition.
