Utilizing purpose-built 3D modeling algorithms and digital fabrication techniques such as 3D printing and CNC milling, MacKinnon’s sculptures examine the role of fiction, the unknown, and authenticity in the act of historical reconstruction. Using fragmented texts, local records, and historic objects as source material, these artworks explore Port Moody’s history as one that is open to interpretation, questioning, and imagination. This exhibition is funded through the support of the Kwi Am Choi Exhibition Scholarship.
