Newzones is pleased to announce our upcoming invitational exhibition, FreshFaces.
As a curated exhibition, FreshFaces will bring together select artists from across Canada for a one-time group showing. As a result, this exciting invitational will feature only ‘new to Newzones’ artworks, on view for the first time in Calgary. Varying practices will be surveyed, including photography, painting, and mixed media, providing Calgary with a stimulating and fresh view of Canadian talent.
Artists include: Michael Adamson, Emily Filler, Nancy Friedland, Nicole Katsuras, Ilyana Martinez, Tiffanie Ting and Kathy Zhang.
FreshFaces is curated by Sabrina Sullivan, Assistant Director of Newzones. Sabrina received a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Art History from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario. She was then accepted to Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London, England, where she obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Fine and Decorative Arts in 2007. Sabrina has been involved in the Calgary contemporary art scene since moving here in 2008 and has enjoyed working in the international contemporary art world through art fair participation.
