Fundraising Event For Humanitarian Aid
We recognize that living in Canada affords us the privilege of many freedoms that so many go without. There is a call for humanitarian aid for the people of Ukraine, and we intend to use our position to help. The West End Gallery sent out a call to our artists at the beginning of March, requesting support for a fundraising event. The received responses have been overwhelming and powerful, supporting our goal.
We are proud to announce that this special event will be taking place on Saturday, April 16, 2022. Proceeds of this event will go towards humanitarian aid for Ukraine. We have reached out to the Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) to ensure the funds reach those in need. As we get closer to our scheduled event date more details will be shared.
Salt Spring artist, Jeannette Sirois has donated one of the first works of art for the event. We have selected this piece to announce our event because this species of bird calls much of Europe its home, including Ukraine.
