Main and Plum Gallery: Patti Munro, Paintings and installations
My entities look as if they have pulled themselves out of their back grounds to escape the confines of their 2D worlds to tell a snippet of their own story.
Over the course of a year, animation artist turned fine artist, Patti Munro, has developed a body of work that explores narrative themes through mixed media assemblages. By layering materials, textures and color in unique arrangements and compositional style, Patti finds her mark through a feast of visual associations and arrangements.
In this exhibition, step up to view Patti's work - she has included details not immediately obvious across the room. her work invites closer inspection.

Leslie Rowe-Israelson and Melanie Rowe
As Stephen Procter in Australia wrote: “Where the sky meets the Sea: that we are all intersections with life, representing a point where life happens, where there is change there is interest.”
Procter's quote inspired glass artists, Leslie and Melanie to consider how they view glass and how it is able to evoke emotions. The twins find that passion serves as motivation for the creative spirit from brain to the torch, blow pipe or kiln.
They explain that working with colour bars and flame is a time for reflection and experimentation, to go beyond your comfort zone. Most of all it is about growth and the unlimited possibilities waiting to be unearthed. They use line, form, colour and light to draw the viewer in closer, to search deep inside the art pieces as if searching their own soul.
