Gillian Haigh: Enough Choice Makes a Steady Midnight
Using Gertrude Stein’s 1914 book Tender Buttons as a source of inspiration, Gillian Haigh’s paintings and sculptural pieces investigate the intersection of materials and language. Through these explorations Gillian thinks about surface in different ways, breaking down the pictorial space, shifting and unraveling images, pushing them into something more open and letting go of specific references.
