The Glory, Blood and Power: Money and War through the Ages exhibition examines the interplay between money, power, and the capacity to wage war, starting in the ancient era and progressing through to the present. It shows the crucial importance of economic power, as the basic underpinning of all strategic considerations and strategies. This exhibition hopes to draw attention to a connection between war, money and art, an aspect of military power that is often overlooked. Items on display include German notgeld 1921-23, German coins with swastika during the WWII, Jewish concentration camp paper bills, POW notes, paper money after the French Revolution, Roman-Jewish war coins from the 1st-2nd century, a crusader coin, Zulu spears, Pacific sword with shark teeth, and many more.
