What does it mean to hunt? Why do people still hunt in a time when food is easy to purchase? Who are the hunters – and who were they?
The Hunt is an in-house curated museum exhibit that explores the history of hunting and wildlife conservation in Southern Alberta from the earliest human presence to the modern day. From early Indigenous hunters to homesteaders, from trophy hunters to hipsters, this exhibit explores the changes in hunting practices and attitudes to animals over time and looks at the role of hunting in Southern Alberta today.
