All of these paintings were made on site, that is from direct observation. Smaller paintings may take a few days and larger ones can take ten days to two weeks. Painting in this way, I am witness to changing light and colour over the hours and days as well as interactions with humans and other creatures. These paintings are a culmination of many hours of attention to a place and for me the process is like a conversation. The title of this exhibition is an invitation to the viewer to visit these places by way of looking at these paintings and perhaps having a conversation of your own.
