Jessica-Jean Kuyper, "This Place," nd
This Place is a show about connecting with our surroundings and asking where it is we belong within them. Often are we so distracted by the demands of responsibilities and by our personal devices, that in those spare moments when we are still the mind draws in and begins to observe the world around. With the use of a camera, Kuyper tries to capture the curiosities and mundanity of the everyday that is discovered within those quiet moments. However, it is within the process of drawing that the limitless stories and meanings of these inspired moments are revealed.
“How do we connect and where do we belong with regards to our surroundings? Installation photography and mural drawings explore moments of pure inspiration from the curious and sometimes mundane nature of our lives and the quiet moments we have.” (Jessica Jean Kuyper)
