Partying is the first solo-exhibition by emerging artist John Forest Patterson. Patterson's work combines digital media with analog installation and painting. Using manufactured, found and painted objects, the 10+ new works created for the exhibition look to translate virtual spaces into the real world.
Located within FRAME Arts Warehouse (318 Ross Avenue) The exhibition will be shown at rapidly developing C Space gallery which has recently become an art hot spot for previously undiscovered Winnipeg talent.
A celebratory opening will be held on Saturday, April 12 from 7 p.m.
A closing reception and artist talk will be held at on Sunday, April 27 at 5 p.m
About the Artist:
John Forest Patterson was born Winnipeg. He is currently completing his BFA at the University of Manitoba. In 2013 he was awarded first prize in the Winnipeg Nuit Blanche Emerging Voices competition for his work 'Flood' (2013). In 2013 he also received the presidential scholarship at Anderson Ranch Arts Center located in Aspen, Colorado. He has shown in galleries throughout Winnipeg. Over the past year, his work has become increasingly focused on the rapid development of technology in relation to geography, time, and aesthetics.
