Victoria artist Ken Faulks presents an exhibition of new work, opening Saturday, November 7. Interested in drawing and design from an early age, by 1983 Ken was producing freelancing work for murals, logos, posters, cards, children’s books, and more. In 1989 he began painting “en plein air”, much like the Group of Seven - oil paint on small wood panels, allowing the artist to work in the field with ease. He has captured the skies and landscapes of Western Canada with lush brushstrokes and a bold palette.
“When you come away from painting outdoors, what do you have? Not mountains and rivers, but paint. The paint has to be visually interesting- the paint becomes the subject. I love paint.” - Ken Faulks
