The Langham Main Gallery presents a 3 person exhibit entitled "Lardeau Landscapes with artists: Deb Borsos, Richard Taylor and Maggie Oliver". These well know and much loved artists will be focusing their talents on a distinct and beautiful part of the Kootenay region (The Lardeau Valley) through distinct perspectives and diverse mediums. Come and revel in the splendor of 'our' beautiful backyard!
The Langham Community Gallery will showcase an exhibit entitled "Landscapes of the Past" from the collection of the Kootenay Lake Archive in Kaslo, and put together by Elizabeth Scarlett. The exhibit begins with an early image of Kaslo as a 'tent city' and covers early street scenes, upper and lower Kaslo from different vantage points and eras and also scenes along the railway. Included are images taken by R.H. Trueman who travelled in the area from the late 1890s to about 1905 capturing activities and landscapes of the time with his 14" glass plate camera. Comparing the then and now”. In addition Gordon Portman has created a special feature of short videos of old images flowing into modern images from the same place, helping us to experience the past in the present.
Both exhibits run from March 11th - May 1st
