In SÈME LA PEAU / SEED THE SKIN, we now become conscious of a shadow character, ‘the Seer’, whose latent presence guides the materialization of the works. Not to be confused with ‘the viewer’, the seer acts as both witness and oracle, constructing images and objects that stitch together past, present, and future. Drawing from histories that pit the human species against all others and how the disconnect between them is manifested in enclosed growing spaces, St. Pierre suggests the simultaneous intimacy and alienation of our entanglement and the necessary move to internalization of our connections as urgent care.
