Les galeries-logis offers an incursion into an imaginary territory where painting as a trace is examined; where notions of refuge and exhibition space are revisited.
Based on relational experiences forged around the creation of custom-made paintings for people and their homes, this fragmented world peels back the domestic space. The intimate spaces visited are transformed into timeless refuges- part cave, part art gallery, part dwelling- as we move back and forth between various digital and traditional processes used to capture the architecture and furnishings of the rooms investigated (living rooms, offices, kitchens, dining rooms, etc.).
From the imponderable tangle of interweaving handmade and technological tools, the result is a series of abstract engravings revealing precious fragments of images. The latter, corresponding to an exploded view of the digitized spaces, informs the virtual tour from which the installation of acoustic and luminous sculptures derives... but it could also be the other way round. Neither the origin of these materialized relics, nor the purpose of this reimagined world are clear... yet everything seems to fit together, to correspond to one another.
