Joi T. Arcand creates digital photo work that blends personal narratives with popular culture. Drawing from her experiences as a mixed-race Cree woman, her work merges identity with nostalgia, humour and kitsch.

Arcand was raised in her home community of Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, Saskatchewan, and now lives in Saskatoon. Her mentor, Mary Longman, is a visual artist and a Professor of Aboriginal Art History at the University of Saskatchewan.
