Matthew Tarini’s subject matter consists of cityscapes, landscapesand gurative work. He is particularly interested in our society’s wavering connection to nature, the erosion of communityand beauty in the modern world.
I find myself looking for something unusual in the ordinary and mundane spaces that I see day to day. There is often something intangible that captures my imagination and enables contemplation. I may nd an intriguing scene on a walkthrough the forest or while wandering through the alley behind my house. – Matthew Tarini
Matthew Tarini received his MFA from University of Western Ontario in 2015; he is currently living and teaching in Edmon-ton, Alberta. Tarini trained in the traditional academic method of drawing and painting and found it to be invaluable as a foundation for creating realist works.
