"Sunflowers"
Sabina, "Sunflowers," mixed media on canvas, 36" x 48".
Michael Rozenvain was born in Kiev, Ukraine, and it was there that he attended art school and later continued his studies at Lvov Academy of Applied Art. He immigrated to Israel in 1990 and then moved to Toronto, where he now resides and has since had a number of one-man and group exhibitions. The vitality of Michael’s paintings is unquestionably the foremost feature of his work. Cobbled streets, busy café scenes and lively musicians fill each canvas with the warmth of treasured memories from his time in Europe.
Sabina, also born in Kiev, Ukraine, completed her studies at the University of Kiev and now resides in Toronto. Captivated by the Canadian scenery she paints landscapes with bright maples, drifting canoes and floral fields bursting with summer colour. Using a palette knife she enhances her bold colours with a thick application of paint and counter balances by using subtle hues in the background. An intensity of light adds a profound sense of artistic maturity to her work that collectors across North America and Europe appreciate.
