Opening Reception and artist talk: Saturday, July 20, 2-5 pm.
The Alberta Society of Artists is pleased to present the solo exhibition Wild featuring the work of Alberta artist Nacim Ruintan-Tehrani.
“Nacim’s vision is to create a sense of connection to the wild, both with her paintings and sculptures, and bring awareness to the endangered species in nature.
Her sculptures are inspired by the organic shapes of botanical elements — specifically seed pods. Manifesting natural organisms that are not quite identifiable, these mixed-media sculptures are inspired by the fruitfulness and wildness of nature.”
The Alberta Society of Artists is the oldest society of juried professional artists in the province, providing art education and exhibitions in public venues since 1931. The Society’s goal is to increase public awareness and appreciation of the visual arts in Alberta.
