Nicholas Wade: gifts

Nicholas Wade is a retired University of Lethbridge art professor who continues his artistic practice while living part-time in Lethbridge. Wade’s installation gifts reflects on his many years of service as a teacher and creative practitioner, displaying presents received from students, friends, and fellow artists, accumulated over 40 years. Wade presents these gifts in what he describes as a “reliquary mode”, likening them to containers or shrines that hold sacred objects. Through this understanding, these gifts can be seen as carriers of intention and signs of creative energies.
