Kimura Northcott invite
Ode-An exhibition of photos by David Kimura and paintings by Suzanne Northcott at the Fort Gallery, 9048 Glover Road, Fort Langley, November 2nd through the 20th.
Northcott and Kimura are a married couple who have recently begun showing their work together.
In this collection, Kimura’s spare, evocative photographs, colour prints on aluminium, are arranged to suggest a subtle narrative. Space, between the pieces and in the work, seems to speak to much that is unseen.
Northcott’s full moon paintings have power and presence. There is a sense of abiding, patience, something unchanged in an ever shifting world.
The two artists share a subtle palette, understated imagery and a poetic sensibility. The result is a moving exhibit that is both powerful and calm.
The artists will be speaking about their work at “First Thursday” at the gallery on November 3rd.
An opening event will take place on Friday, November 11th from 7 - 9pm.
Gallery hours are Wednesday to Sunday, noon-5pm
