Try Your Luck at MAWA’s Over the Top Art Auction and Cupcake Party!

This St. Patrick’s Day is about much more than beer and leprechauns.

For hundreds of Winnipeggers, it’s all about art, cupcakes and taking a chance!

Art addicts from all over the city will fill the gallery space at Mentoring Artists for Women’s Art (MAWA) and the Edge Gallery next door for the best auction in town. They’ll fight for over 150 extraordinary works of art while snacking on over 1,000 homemade cupcakes.

MAWA hopes to raise $30,000 to help fund more high-quality visual arts community programming.

The Over the Top Art Auction and Cupcake Party takes place on:

Sunday, March 17th from 1 to 5 p.m. at MAWA, 611 Main Street.

Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. All are welcome.

Ahead of the Sunday auction, the public is invited to check out the art on:

Friday, March 15th from 6 to 10 p.m. and Saturday, March 16th from noon to 5 p.m. Admission on Friday night and Saturday is free, but if you want to place a pre-bid (beat the rush!), you’ll need to buy a ticket to obtain a bidding number.

It’s fun, it’s delicious and it’s affordable. Bidding on many of the artworks begins at $50.

MAWA has been providing visual art education in our community for 35 years.
