Artistic approach
I acquired my painting skills through practice and reading. My influences are the Russian Impressionist masters, American and Canadian such as the Group of Seven. The plein air painting has been crucial in my learning. It allows for further research of colors, the simplification of the composition and timeliness.
Impressionistic way
My way of thinking about painting is not limited in subject and color palette, as my signature lies in the application of paint. I work with oil on linen canvas by exploring several issues that are dear to me. I do landscape, still life, portraits and figures. My palette is universal and I use many tools such as, brushes, spatulas, etc., because every part of the canvas should be interesting for the eyes. When I am painting, I am always looking to inject movement to my subject by working with light and texture in an impressionistic way.
Oil is a passionant medium and I have a lot of pleasure to investigate it every day.
