Rebecca Perehudoff: Vivid Strokes
Opening reception: Saturday, December 11, 1 - 4PM
Art Placement is excited to present Rebecca Perehudoff’s upcoming exhibition, showcasing a selection of beautiful new landscapes in acrylic. Her paintings present a variety of subjects: classic prairie skies and rippling shoreline reflections, as well as less conventional views: dense forest tree lines that become almost abstract in their all-over patterning, and road signs juxtaposed against otherwise picturesque scenes. Throughout the collection of new works, the signature elements of Perehudoff’s style—intense colours, strong contrasts, bold gestural strokes, and richly textured surfaces—are on full display.
Rebecca Perehudoff was born in Saskatoon and resides in Chicago. She studied art at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the College of DuPage, later obtaining a Master of Arts in Art Therapy at the University of Illinois. From the late 1970s until the closure of the Kenderdine Campus in 2012, she was also a frequent participant in the Emma Lake Artists’ Workshops. She has exhibited her work for nearly four decades and her paintings can be found in numerous public, private, and corporate collections in Canada and abroad.
