Catherine's work has relied upon the contradictions of impulse vs. structure, and working with the formal tenants of painting while vs. trust, intuition and experience, tipping a hat to history vs. working in a contemporary context. Pursuing a way to paint with a personal voice is her connection to the intense and fragile beauty of life.
